Privacy Policy for Tuner
Last updated 9 September 2026
Tuner collects nothing about you. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs reporting on what you do. The developer never receives your viewing activity, your provider details, or any other information from the app.
What Tuner is
Tuner is a player for an IPTV service you already subscribe to. It supplies no channels or content of its own. You enter the details of a provider you have chosen, and Tuner plays what that provider sends you.
Where Tuner connects
Every network request Tuner makes goes to an address you or your provider supplied. There are no others:
- Your IPTV provider — to sign in, list your channels, and play streams.
- The programme guide (XMLTV/EPG) address you entered, if you entered one.
- Channel logo images, at whatever addresses your playlist lists.
Tuner sends no request to the developer, and there is no server operated by the developer for it to talk to. Your provider will see your requests, as it would for any player; how it handles that is covered by its own privacy policy, not this one.
What is stored, and where
- On your Apple TV. Your settings, favourites, hidden and locked channel groups, recently watched channels, reminders, and a cached copy of the programme guide.
- In the device keychain. Your provider password, and your Parental Controls PIN if you set one. The password is stored so that it cannot leave the device.
Sync to your Apple Account
Tuner can carry your saved providers and settings in your Apple Account, so reinstalling the app or setting up another Apple TV does not mean typing everything again. This is on by default and can be turned off in Settings › Providers › Sync to Apple Account.
When it is on, that information is held in your own iCloud Keychain, under your Apple Account, protected by Apple's end-to-end encryption. It goes to Apple, not to the developer, who has no access to it and no way to read it. Turning the setting off stops it and removes the synced copy.
Purchases
Tuner Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple. Tuner never sees or stores your payment details. The developer receives only Apple's ordinary, anonymous sales reporting — never your name, address, or card.
Children
Tuner is not directed at children. Because the channels come from a provider you choose, their content is not rated or reviewed by the developer, which is why the app is rated 17+. Parental Controls, which let you require a PIN before a channel group will play, are included free.
Data sharing
None. There is nothing collected to share, sell, or disclose. Tuner does not track you across apps or websites, and does not use your data for advertising.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
